In accordance with Amendment 2 that made medical cannabis legally available in Florida, public consumption of any kind is prohibited. Florida Statute 381.986 states that cannabis consumption “on any form of public transportation” or “in any public place” is outlawed, effectively ruling out social lounges in The Sunshine State. No social lounges are open at this time.

While Florida arguably has one of the strictest medical programs in the nation, victory for pot-proponents came in May of 2018, when a Florida judge ruled the state’s ban on smokable cannabis is unconstitutional. As new rules and regulations surrounding flower roll out, we can’t help but to hope that safe, accessible consumption lounges are on the horizon as well.
