Recreational and medical marijuana are available at licensed dispensaries across Oregon. The state legalized adult-use cannabis under Measure 91, the Oregon Legalized Marijuana Initiative, in 2014.
The state legalized expedited recreational marijuana sales by almost a year with the passing of Senate Bill 460, allowing medical dispensaries to sell recreational cannabis. On January 1st, 2017 the emergency order expired, and now, only licensed adult-use marijuana dispensaries are allowed to sell recreational marijuana. Oregon first legalized medical cannabis in 1998 under the under the Oregon Medical Marijuana Act.Oregon medical marijuana patients can purchase medical marijuana products at select recreational dispensaries at a reduced tax rate. There are 3 med-only dispensaries remaining in the state.
