Appearance

A very interesting-looking sample with a scary amount of trichomes visible to the naked eye, this Cindy was a fairly rich but definitely yellowish green, due at least in part to the generous cloudy trich coverage.  On closer inspection, the trichomes were almost all cloudy, but there were plenty that had been a little bit beat up and were missing their heads.  The strain had a little spongy quality to it but was well-dried and had good density for a Sativa.

Aroma

Absolutely amazing example of a Cinderella… as soon as it was cut into or ground, it filled the room with its pungent and slightly putrid/musky fruit bouquet.  There are notes of skunk, pine, and citrus — it almost adds up to the fabled “evil pineapple” smell, but the skunkiness was the strongest non-fruit aroma.  Still, it was clear that this was the Pineapple pheno rather than the Grapefruit pheno, which are the two most standard expressions of C-99.

Flavor

There’s a tangy fruity sweetness that hits the tongue immediately, but also notes of chemical pine (Pine Sol) that can be detected.  Similar to the smell for sure, but with more sweetness and no real traces of skunk.  The really attractive part about this strain was how smooth it was on the throat, even while expanding like crazy and producing a thick smoke.  The final ash was a little iffy, as it was mostly dark gray or black with white areas rather than the other way around.

Effect

(We are NOT doctors – personal opinion ONLY)  Cindy is loaded with energy, positivity, and lends a nice mental sharpness to tasks, which makes it a superb creative and professional situation strain.  There wasn’t much in the way of body effects, but the ocular attention suggests it may aid glaucoma patients, etc.

Overall

We wish there was a little more peak and lasting potency with this one, but it may have been a blessing in disguise due to the shifty and somewhat trippy nature of C-99 as a strain — it’s often too much for people, even many experienced patients.  But this one was different, with a manageable potency that left us feeling spry and ready to take on anything, especially mental tasks.  The coursing energy and warm/flushed-feeling body made for a strain that had us standing and remaining active for the majority of the review.  It’s a wonderful social strain as well, and carried a generally happy and positive attitude along with it.  Unlike most C-99's, we can safely recommend this one to newer patients who want to see what the legendary strain is all about — don’t go wild with the dosage and it should be a lovely experience.
