Legislation for medical marijuana in Maryland was enacted in May of 2013, however, the bill was revised and passed in April of 2014. Maryland has been slow in their rollout of medical marijuana, with the first dispensaries opening in December of 2017.
Despite the delayed implementation, Maryland’s medical cannabis industry is steadily growing as patients begin to register for the program. Under Maryland’s medical cannabis law, qualifying patients are legally allowed to possess up to 120 grams of flower and 36 grams of THC extract per 30-days.
