Burlington is the most populous city in the state, but is the least populous city to hold such a title among all of the states. Just 45 miles from the Canada-US line, Burlington gives a whole new definition to “south of the border.” Burlington is home to the University of Vermont and Champlain College, lending it a college-town feel despite the many historical sites around town. Be sure to check out the home of Ethan Allan, famous folk hero and political figure. Burlington is also the first US city to operate on 100% renewable energy.
