Appearance

This sample had great structure, with a bit of calyx-stacking to make the otherwise blocky shape interesting to look at.  The light greens and orange gave it a creamy look in the hand, as did the trichomes, which were mostly clear, but had a good number of champagne-colored heads as well.  There were a couple of non-frosty leaves that could’ve been pruned off abut it wasn’t anything major.  We also discovered a small amount of premature seeds upon closer inspection of the photos, but they weren’t prevalent enough to really affect the smoking experience.

Aroma

This sample has the signature candy lemon sweet and sour bouquet that Super Lemon Haze is known for, giving off a healthy sweet skunkiness in the bag, and getting more complex and much more pungent once broken apart.  There were some floral Haze notes when it was ground up, but an interesting mentholated sour lemon zest type of scent seemed to dominate, with the sweetness taking a back seat.  The aroma had us all excited to try this strain, it was up there with the best Super Lemon Hazes we’ve had in this category.

Flavor

After being very impressed by the aroma, we were a bit let down by the taste, which was only average for this strain.  The first two hits were a pleasingly sweet lemon candy flavor (heavier on the exhale than the inhale), which is par for the course for SLH — it lacked some of the complexity present in the aroma however, and we were hoping for a bit of the sourness and more natural lemon taste.  Regardless, the flavor pretty much disappeared after the first two hits, becoming a lightly sweet vegetal taste for the remainder of the duration.  It never tasted bad, and the smoke was smooth yet expansive (minimal coughing) — the final ash was a form-holding light gray with white flecks, showing a proper flush.

Effect

(We are NOT doctors – personal opinion ONLY)  Energy, ocular effects, creativity, mood elevation, appetite stimulation, anti-nausea, and mental/physical relaxation late in the duration.

Overall

We all enjoyed this sample but felt that it could’ve been better in a few areas which hurt the overall impression that we were left with.  The trim was a little bit shaggy in spots and there were some tiny seeds, but we mostly missed the flavor and peak potency we’ve had from some Super Lemon Hazes in the past.  Still, we felt that this one was a great medium potency daytime potency choice which was especially perfect for the first thing in the morning, painting the day with a glow of positivity and a burst of energy.  It’s a creative, social, and uplifting med which never had any negative aspects in terms of effects — no anxiety, no jittery type of energy, and no real “crash” to finish.  There’s of course a place for medium potency meds, but we suspect that this has greater potential than we were shown, both because we’ve seen better from CAM in the past, and because we’ve seen some downright amazing-tasting and potent Super Lemon Hazes.
