Appearance

Robust, rounded colas were more easily compared to Skunk than Haze, though a light manicure displayed Haze attributes like very narrow water leaves that reached upwards towards the crown of the colas hugging the bud. The trim was loose and rather unmanicured. It was clearly hand trimmed flower and exposed the plant’s thin sugar leaf character but our sample was notably leafier than many consumers may prefer.

Aroma

The well-cured flower delivered a delightful balance of vanilla and sweetness, typical of Skunk phenotypes, and a light pepper fragrance from the Super Silver Haze. The aroma was remarkably complex, rich and layered. Hazes are alarmingly peppery, though the sweetness detected in this sample was refreshing, and indicative of the Super Lemon Skunk lineage.

Flavor

Though the name may suggest a heavy lemon tartness, samples of Super Lemon Haze often are not very sharply sour as the name implies. Rather, the flavor can be more spicy and woody, like Super Silver Haze. The phenotype The Station features, in particular, was decidedly sweet rather than sour on the palate. For those seeking a more lemon flavor, another Lemon strain may suit you better.

Effect

Smoking yielded a quick onset, typical of Haze, equatorial Sativa lineage countered by a grounding relaxation provided by the Skunk Phenotype. We didn’t experience a noticeable change in heart rate, which is rare among sativas for most users, while the high was still motivating and creative for a brief amount of time. We experienced very little crash and were able to carry on with daily duties without much distraction or unwanted tiredness, a desired trait for the expected experience of a Haze variety.

Overall

The Station features a phenotype of Super Lemon Haze that leans heavily on the mother plant, Lemon Skunk, but still conveys Haze attributes. The sample was absolutely impressive in aromatic complexity. The brief trim, done by hand, added an element of history and conveyed its short, narrow-leaf structure typical of Haze varieties, although a bit more effort to manicure the flower would have been appreciated. The high was enjoyable and relaxing while the uplifting terpenes inspired creativity. All around, a solid example of Super Lemon Haze, albeit a bit Skunk dominate.
