Appearance

Small “popcorn” sort of nugs made up the sample, most 1? x 1? or so, and many shaped like teardrops.  Though it was a little light texturally, the nugs were all very frosty, with well-preserved fat-headed trichomes at varying stages of readiness.

Aroma

Um, wow… this is the absolute most uncanny mango smell we’ve ever come across in cannabis.  When this strain is handled or ground up, it unleashes an incredible fresh mango scent that seems as if someone sliced one underneath your nose.  It has that signature almost turpentine quality that mangoes are known for (reminded one reviewer of a post-BBQ “wet nap”) but is super-sweet overall.  This is one of those strains where it’s a struggle to pull your nose away from the jar… it’s that nice and quickly vaulted itself into the Top 5 smells we’ve encountered.

Flavor

Given that it’s almost impossible to live up to a near-perfect score in Aroma, it was still a little disappointing when we weren’t greeted by an intense mango taste.  There were hints of the strong sweetness and that bite, but it was really only on the first 1-2 hits and was never that pungent.  After that bit of flavor, it was mostly neutral and not at all unpleasant, though it sizzled and snapped a bit while burning and left a dark gray ash, indicating that it may need a longer flush next time.

Effect

(We are NOT doctors – personal opinion ONLY)  Physical and mental relaxation, some energy right to start, strong ocular attention, mild pain relief, and sleep aid properties late.

Overall

We wish we could bottle this strain’s smell and keep it always within arm’s reach… pretty spectacular there.  Ultimately, it couldn’t live up to that level of perfection in other areas, but was still a very solid med for later in the day, as it provided a strong little ride at first and then slipped into an even-handed state of relaxation.  With a slightly better flush and a little more density, this strain would really be amazing in the “bag appeal” areas, but it’s still something that we highly recommend, especially for those who love a fruity strain that packs a punch initially.  This is an in-house exclusive cross by the Grasshopper, so you won’t find this exact strain anywhere else.
