Camp Springs is an unincorporated area and census-designated place (CDP) in Prince George's County, Maryland, United States. Not to be confused with Camptown and the races there (though the song was originally published in Maryland), the community was called Camp Springs due to soldiers en route to Fort Meade from the District of Columbia finding the area to be a comfortable place to camp due to the abundant springs.
