Niwot is a census-designated place about thirty-five miles northwest of Denver, halfway between Boulder and Longmont. Meaning "left handed", Niwot is named after Arapaho Chief Niwot, a tribal leader in the Boulder area in the nineteenth century. Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch is from Niwot and it is also the headquarters of footwear company Crocs. Make sure to stop by a dispensary during your next visit to Niwot.
