Estes Park is a popular town best known as the gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park. It sits along the Big Thompson River and offers an abundance of outdoor activities. One thing you will not find in Estes Park are marijuana dispensaries. While possession is legal, you won’t be able to buy any marijuana in town as the city enacted a ban on such businesses.
Not to worry though, you can purchase marijuana nearby in the town of Lyons. Lyons is located in Boulder County, 20 miles east of Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park, and 17 miles north of Boulder. It is the closest place to buy marijuana from Estes. You will most likely pass through Lyons on your way up to RMNP. It’s a charming little town and worth a visit!
