Located approximately halfway between Phoenix and Tucson, Casa Grande was founded during the Arizona mining boom. Executives of the Southern Pacific Railroad named the city after the Hohokam ruins, which are in close proximity at Casa Grande Ruins National Monument. The city boasts nearly 50,000 residents and one medical marijuana dispensary.
