In her role as Investigational Drug Pharmacist at Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago, Dr. Heta Patel was the lead Pharmacist responsible for protocol adherence and execution of clinical trials in a variety of therapeutic areas. She then transitioned to Pharmaceutical industry serving as a Subject Matter Expert for FDA drug approval of the first marijuana based medicine in the US for severe forms of pediatric seizures. From there she moved on to serve as a field coach and medical science liaison for Hematology/Oncology Biosimilar portfolio providing drug and disease state education, and building strategic relationships with Key Opinion leaders, and managed markets in the field.
Dr. Patel also serves as Board of Directors at United Against Slavery – a non-profit charity organization for human trafficking and slavery. She also is an active member of Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association (HBA), American Pharmacists Association, Illinois Council of Health System Pharmacists and Indian Women in Healthcare and Chicago Women’s Empowerment.
Dr. Patel lives in Chicago with her husband and 2 children – Aaryan (16) and Kiara (9). She is an avid reader and loves to dance.
