Growing

Updated 8/25/2017

The weather is warming up which means it's time to start planning your outdoor grow. If you've been thinking about growing marijuana outdoors here in Colorado (or pondering a move to our fine state so that you can), then you’ll need something to help you get started.

One option is to start with clones of other “mother” plants. You could get clones from friends or buy a few from a place like LaContes Clone Bar or Ballpark Holistic Dispensary, but it is important to remember that bringing clones into your grow might also introduce contaminants such a pests and disease to your other plants, though this is less of an issue when growing outdoors. Clones also tend to be less capable of handling stress and often experience transplant shock if not thoroughly rooted, so be sure to check your clones before purchase.

If you've got a collection of "bag seeds", you can try sprouting them indoors for future transplant, but keep in mind that these seeds might not be as viable as the ones you'd get from a dispensary or breeder. They may thrive indoors, for example, then burn up outdoors or offer little resistance to pests.

Of course, you won't be able to sprout cannabis seeds without knowing how to find them first. Though there are a number of dispensaries that occasionally sell marijuana seeds, there are only a few that continuously offer high-quality seeds at affordable prices.

Here are some our favorite places to find marijuana seeds in Colorado.

Colorado Seed Inc - Various Locations

Colorado Seed Inc has been developing their genetics in Boulder, Colorado since 2008. They currently offer 24 different strains of seed, including Ghost Ship, Bootlegger and Night Nurse. Colorado Seed Inc only sells wholesale, but you can find a list of dispensaries that carry their products on their website. If you are looking for Colorado Seed Inc genetics in Denver, we would recommend The Health Center.

The Green Solution: Rezen8 Seeds - Various Locations

The Green Solution (TGS) sells Rezen8 Seeds throughout their many locations in the Denver Metro area. Rezen8 Seeds crosses some of the most popular strains available at TGS, with a proprietary male strain called Barberry Brute which is known for increased yields and high resin production. The end result are stable, premium genetics for both novice and experienced cultivators.

They currently offer Sour Diesel, Bubba Kush, Golden Goat and Blue Dream crosses.

House of Dankness - Denver

At House of Dankness, customers can purchase packs of non-feminized Rare Dankness seeds in coveted strains like 501st OG, Ghost Train Haze #1 and Rug Burn OG. Both Rug Burn OG and Ghost Train Haze #1 have won accolades for their top-notch quality, as well as many other Rare Dankness genetics.

The collection of genetics spans the last three decades and represents the finest specimens of cannabis strains in the world. The seeds available at House of Dankness are always changing so check them out and claim your prized genetics today!

Finding marijuana in Colorado is easy enough; finding seeds, on the other hand isn't quite there yet. Though there are some very reputable stores where you can find high-quality cannabis seeds in Colorado, those places are not as common as the average dispensary. Because of the limited number of seed distributors in Colorado, many residents have turned to online orders.
