The official beginning of summer is almost here and it’s time to solidify those summer vacation plans! More states than ever have legal, adult-use cannabis markets, and there are more options than ever – even internationally – to explore local cannabis offerings and culture. From the cannabis connoisseurs looking to explore new pot locales, to the canna-curious who have a hankering to see what all the hubbub is about, here at PotGuide, we’ve got the goods to help you find the trip that’s right for you.

Tips for a Great Cannabis Vacation

To have the best possible vacation experience and not run afoul of the law, you will definitely want to familiarize yourself with local marijuana laws and regulations. Be sure to look up the state you are traveling to in the search bar on the PotGuide homepage. From there, you can find a wide variety of cannabis legal information and FAQs that will keep you in the know.

We'd highly recommend brushing up on marijuana laws before embarking on your adventure. Remember, it's always better to be prepared than to risk any run-ins with the law in an unfamiliar place!

PotGuide has tons of great resources to make your canna-vacation memorable!

Don’t forget, every state has different laws on the books regarding consumption, possession, how much you can buy and transport, and driving under the influence. For example, what applies in California may not apply at all in Nevada, even though they are neighbors. So keep those laws handy!

Top Cannabis Destinations to Consider

Are you an adventurous type that prefers spending time in the great outdoors? If so, perhaps Colorado, Washington, Oregon, or Alaska should be on your radar. If your idea of the perfect vacation is to lie under a huge umbrella poolside in flip-flops, fruity beverage in hand, then maybe California or Nevada are your go-to locations.

Interested in learning more about Paul Revere’s midnight ride and walking through beautiful Boston Common? Then Massachusetts is the place for you! Enjoy rugged shoreline and some New England good cheer? Then Maine it is.

International options are abound as well, with Canada leading the way as they roll out their legal markets in the summer of 2018. Christiana, Denmark, has a “green light” district where cannabis shops operate 24- hours a day, and Prague, in the Czech Republic, has some of the friendliest drug laws in Europe. Uruguay surprised the world when they legalized the use and possession of cannabis in 2014, and Barcelona has their famous cannabis social clubs. And of course, there’s always the option of taking a trip to the proverbial marijuana motherland, Amsterdam.

International Cannabis Tourism
There are tons of great international cannabis destinations!

Groups like StoptheDrugWar.Org work really hard to keep U.S. consumers knowledgeable about what’s happening with drug policy beyond our borders. And just like traveling in the U.S.A., knowing local laws abroad is a good idea.
