Who’s ready for the big game this year? Everyone knows the Super Bowl is the best time to step up your skills when it comes to snacks and appetizers. To add to the excitement this year, why not try your hand at making some delectable cannabis-infused dishes. Not only will they add some extra zing and pep to your party, but you and your guests can enjoy a nice, relaxing cannabis experience at the same time!

Infused BBQ Bacon Weenies in a Blanket

Traditional pigs in a blanket are boring. This recipe not only brings a dash of excitement, but it's also infused! Smokey sausages drizzled with tangy infused BBQ sauce and wrapped in a warm crescent roll with bacon and cheese, what could go wrong? This is a very easy spin on a classic Super Bowl snack. For this recipe, you’ll need the following ingredients:

  • 1 Package of Cocktail Sausages (weenies)
  • 1 C BBQ Sauce (Open Pit or Sweet Baby Rays)
  • 6 Strips of Bacon
  • 1 C Cheddar Cheese
  • ¼ C Chopped Green Onion
  • 1 8oz Can Crescent Rolls
  • 1 Egg
  • 2 Tbs Water
  • Pinch of Black Pepper
  • 7-8 Tbs Cannabis Butter/Oil

Directions

  1. First step will be infusing the barbecue sauce. Warm the barbeque sauce in a small saucepan over low heat. Once the barbecue sauce is warm, add canna-butter/oil and stir well. Be careful to keep temperatures very low to preserve cannabinoids. After the cannabis butter/oil is mixed well into the barbeque sauce, remove from heat and set aside. At no point should the barbeque sauce and cannabis oil mixture simmer or boil. Overheating the mixture will ruin your cannabis oil
  2. Fry the bacon strips extra crispy. When finished, place them on a paper towel to remove excess grease. Once bacon is cool, chop into fine bits
  3. Preheat oven to 350° F and grease baking sheet
  4. Crack egg into small bowl and add 2 Tbs of water plus pinch of black pepper. Whisk together to create the egg wash
  5. Unroll and remove individual crescent rolls from packaging. On a cutting board, slice crescent rolls into thinner, smaller pieces
  6. Next, flatten one slice of crescent roll dough at a time. Place one cocktail sausage in the center of the flattened crescent roll. Sprinkle a small amount of cheddar cheese, bacon and green onion over cocktail sausage
  7. Over the top of everything, spoon infused barbecue sauce evenly
  8. Finally, carefully wrap up the crescent roll dough evenly over the sausage and other ingredients like a big doobie of deliciousness
  9. Arrange on baking sheet
  10. With a spoon or brush, drizzle egg wash mixture very lightly over the top of each individual weenie in a blanket
  11. Bake in oven until golden brown (About 12-15 minutes). Serve with leftover infused barbecue sauce mixed with leftover bacon and green onion
