Suddenly nature, in all its glory, is in high definition.

Using cannabis while on your camping trip will definitely a great decision. When you go camping there are a ton of great things to do while getting high. You can smoke an uplifting sativa and go for a hike or swim. If you’re an artsy type, taking photographs and sketching the wilderness are also great things to do while high. Figure Out The Logistics

There are many ways to use cannabis when you are camping but some are decidedly easier than others. For example, if you are going on a hiking trip you wouldn't want to take up room in your pack with a glass bong. Thankfully, there are many good alternatives for every cannabis enthusiast. Rolling a joint would probably be the easiest and most space efficient way to smoke. You can even pre-roll joints to bring with you to avoid the hassle of taking your grinder along. Just don't forget to bring your roach with you; be an Earth-friendly smoker and refrain from littering. Another convenient option would be a vaporizer pen. You can get a vape pen that works with wax, flower, or both. Vape pens are portable, hardly smell, and you don’t need a lighter-- so it eliminates the chance of accidentally causing a forest fire.

Edibles are always a great option because it is the most discreet way to consume. It doesn't produce smoke or stink up an area (even though we think that "stink" smells great) so it can be a great option in a more populated and National parks. Speaking of discretion, there are numerous ways to mask the scent of your smoke. A traditional sploof is easy enough to make from a cardboard roll and some dryer sheets. You can also purchase charcoal filters to blow the smoke into. The nice thing about using cannabis while camping is that you are already in a less populated area in the woods. That alone will afford you some privacy to get your smoke on if you find the right spot.

Get the Lay Of The Land

A note of caution; although recreational cannabis is legal in the states of Washington, Oregon, and Colorado, one must exercise caution when attempting to smoke on Federal parks. Smoking cannabis on Federal land is still illegal. Despite their popularity, it’s illegal to smoke in Rocky Mountain National Park, Olympic National Park, and Yosemite National Park. First time offenders can receive a minimum fine of $1,000 and may serve a maximum of 1 year in jail. Most often campers are stopped by rangers for other offenses and are then caught with marijuana. To avoid forthcoming issues, check your tail lights, keep pets on leashes, and follow all park rules.

If you don’t want to risk it, there are many private campsites that are 420 friendly that are on private land. The Wilderness Bud and Breakfast in Pagosa Springs, Colorado is a stoner's dream. They provide teepees and tent sites as well as an organic breakfast! They also have 4:20 happy hour which lasts from 4:20pm to 6:20pm which they provide you with quality flower for your enjoyment.

There are plenty of private campgrounds that allow cannabis consumption. If you are unsure if a place allows it, just give them a call. It’s better to understand a campsites’ rules than to be kicked out. Another great option to camp and smoke cannabis legally is to find a friend with private land in WA, OR, or CO that will let you camp on their property and smoke. That way, you have tons of privacy!
