420 Culture

Halloween is finally here and that means plenty of “Hallo-weed” parties going down! Whether you’re looking for the perfect cannabis-inspired costume for the big event or some tasty party treats, we’ve got the scoop on how to make this year’s Halloween a marijuana-filled sensation to remember. No matter how you celebrate, remember to consume cannabis responsibly and make sure to be cautious about your consumption habits if you’ll be around children. That being said, let’s take a closer look into some awesome cannabis-themed festivities!

Cannabis Costumes for Your 420 Halloween Party

Cannabis consumers are known to be creative and no where is that more apparent than when they use those creative talents to make stoner costumes. From blunts and bags of weed to famous stoner duos, there really isn’t a bad option when it comes to dressing up for Hallo-weed.

Some of the most common cannabis-inspired Halloween costumes you’ll see floating around include famous stoners like Cheech and Chong, Bluntman and Chronic, or Abby and Llana from Broad City (great for those heading to a party with a partner) while solo cannabis enthusiasts might dress up as the Dude from The Big Lebowski, or even Mary Jane herself.

Conversely, you can go as cannabis paraphernalia like a bag of weed, a blunt or even the Zig Zag guy who is plastered all over their packaging. All you need to pull that one off is a little green face paint, an orange hoodie and beanie, and a pack of zigs in your hand (a full beard wouldn’t hurt, either). You’ll be the go-to guy for anyone’s joint-rolling needs, though, so practice, practice, practice!

And then there are cannabis strain costumes. This doesn’t mean dressing like a giant bud (though you can do that too) but rather dressing as a representation of your favorite strain – White Widow or Grape Ape, for example – then having your friends guess which strain you are. Other strains that could make great costumes include Jack the Ripper, Agent Orange or Headband. Check out our strain guide for more ideas.

Halloween-Themed Cannabis Snacks

If there’s one thing you need at a Hallo-weed party (besides cannabis), it’s food. If you’ll be attending a potluck-type Halloween party this year, then try your hand at some of these cannabis-themed Halloween dishes.

For an extra kick, infuse cannabis into any of these recipes by substituting canna-butters and oils or by adding cannabis tinctures to your recipes. Remember to label any edible foods, though, and practice precise dosing whenever possible to avoid the risk of overconsumption. Check out our articles on how to create cannabis tinctures and infuse oils to learn more.

  • Rice Krispy Treats: These are a great party treat because they are super easy to make (you just need butter, mini marshmallows and puffed rice cereal) and allow for a lot of creativity. After adding the Rice Krispies to your marshmallow/butter mix, simply form them into whatever shape(s) you like then add colored icing or sprinkles for details. Roll up a few rice krispy blunts with orange icing tips or shape them into little pot leaves then add candy eyes for an added touch.

  • Chocolate Covered Fruit: We like this recipe because it’s fun, easy, and even a little healthy. All you need are some large strawberries or bananas, skewers and chocolate melts from your local craft store. To make them, just dip your fruit in the melted chocolate and place on parchment to harden. You can use different colors to add details (ghost faces are popular this time of year) or sprinkles to match the party’s theme.
  • Roasted Pumpkin Seeds: Sick of the sweets? Pumpkin seeds are plentiful this time of year and roasted pumpkin seeds are a quick, healthy snack that will settle your salty cravings in no time. Though traditional roasted pumpkin seeds are made with just a little salt and butter or oil (cannabis-infused oil if you have it), there are many tasty flavors you can try as well, like cinnamon or taco spice. Try a few different flavors and let us know your favorite.

There’s no need to scrounge for hours on the internet looking for awesome weed costumes and cannabis treats because we’ve done it for you. Of course, there’s many other 420-friendly costumes and treats that we may have overlooked so we need your help to complete the list.
