Upon hearing that we were given the opportunity to review the Arizer Solo II, a rush of excitement took hold. In fact, a member of our review team used to own the original Solo, as well as an Extreme Q Tower from Arizer, noting them to be excellent vaporizers.

Because of our experience with Arizer and past delight with their products, it’s safe to say we were expecting big things from the Solo II. There were several improvements from the original Solo that we hoped Arizer would improve upon too.

As far as appearance goes, we were very impressed with the appearance of the Solo II. Drawing from its predecessor’s design, there were many improvements made to make the functionality more intuitive and helpful to the consumer.

We really liked the midnight blue finish and the sturdiness of the casing. The Solo II feels great in your hand and has enough weight to feel durable and stable. However, because of its weight, it may be more susceptible to damage if dropped. The unit does come with a protective carrying case though, so as long as you are mindful there should be no issues.

The case even has holsters for your mouthpieces so you can keep them packed up and ready to go at all times. All together, the whole unit is pretty discreet and extremely easy to conceal when necessary. Enough about the looks though, let’s dive into the details.

Functionality

The Arizer Solo II definitely excels in the functionality category. It is comparable to a desktop vaporizer and doles out vapor in an exceptional fashion. After seshing with the Solo II for a few hours, we were not only very medicated but also extremely impressed.

The Solo II, in our opinion, has a great functional design that is both intuitive and purpose-driven. The unit heats up remarkably quickly and, for a digital display, is quite precise. In comparison to some of the other portable vaporizers on the market, the Solo II definitely sits in the upper echelon when it comes to function.

We were careful not to pack the bowl too tight when loading, and found that even though there is some resistance drawing vapor through the cannabis, the hits were very smooth with minimal drag. As touched upon before, the vapor was consistent, flavorful and effective.

In terms of battery life, the Solo II excels. We were able to use it for the better part of the day without charging, as it handled roughly 20-25 bowls before needing to charge. When you do need to juice up, the Solo II charges at a pretty quick pace and, even better, you can use it while it’s charging! We’ve never seen this feature before in a portable vaporizer and thought it was pretty awesome and thoughtful of Arizer to include it.

Ease of Use

One of the best aspects of the Solo II is its simplicity and intuitive design. A big issue with portable vaporizers that our team identified was the difficulty of cleaning and upkeep. From resin-stained attachments to non-removable bowls, the issues go on. Arizer has, surprisingly, found a way to elude all of these problems with removable borosilicate glass mouthpieces/loading chambers.

With the Solo II, packing and cashing bowls is a breeze. Your flower actually sits inside the mouthpiece, so there is no messy clean-up within the unit. Simply wash your mouthpieces with isopropyl alcohol and you’re ready to go.

Turning on the Solo II is really easy, and Arizer has included a safety measure to ensure you won’t accidentally turn it on inside your pocket. Simply hold the center and top button down for the required interval (also adjustable within the settings) and you’re ready to go. Additionally, navigating the settings is pretty simple, which makes customizing the Solo II to your personal preferences quick and painless.

What’s great about the Solo II is the fact that right from the get-go, you are able to enjoy vaporizing without the hassle and time-consuming nature of cleaning. Arizer really makes the upkeep process easy with this product, which makes vaporizing quite easy and enjoyable.

Accessibility/Portability

The Solo II is quite versatile and is a great on-the-go device. While it is a bit heavier than other portable vaporizers, it is still easy to carry in your pocket, a backpack/purse or any other carrying device. With the unit’s carrying case, you can even clip it onto your belt for instant vaping access.

The design of the Solo II allows for maximum discretion, making it the perfect choice for when you need to take a toke around family or friends who don’t partake.

We were sure to rigorously test the Solo II’s portability, taking it on hikes, on the golf course and, of course, a few of our favorite sesh spots. The Solo II did a great job in every location and environment, proving to be an excellent choice to tag along on any adventure.

Value

Coming in at a $249.99 (with free shipping to Canada and USA) the Solo II has a lower price point than some of its competitors, making it a great value. The Solo II truly feels like a much more expensive unit, and delivers hits rivaling its desktop counterparts.

If you’re looking for a portable vaporizer that won’t kill your budget, the Solo II is for you – and it’s worth every penny of your hard-earned cash. The product has excellent craftsmanship and, as long as you can take care of it, should last a pretty long time (Our Q-Tower by Arizer has been going strong for 6 years). The durable casing and sturdy components make the Solo II a solid investment and an effective option for the daily consumer.

Overall

We really loved the Solo II by Arizer. It is one of the best portable vaporizers we have had the pleasure of sampling, and a really great choice for anyone looking to make a new vaporizer purchase. We were very impressed with almost every aspect of the Solo II. This unit has even made it into the daily rotation of one of our reviewers!

The Solo II definitely improves upon some features of the original Solo vaporizer and we would recommend it for connoisseurs and novices alike!
