Cannabis became federally legal in Canada on October 17th, 2018 meaning that Quebec’s regulated recreational cannabis market is now operational and open to adults 21 years of age and older.

Recreational cannabis is enforced and overseen by the Société québécoise du cannabis (SQDC) and falls under the legislative direction of The Cannabis Regulation Act. Quebec appears primed to be one of Canada’s most popular cannabis destinations and the province is working hard to ensure legal marijuana does not negatively impact the safety of its residents, primarily children.
