Cannabis became legal in Manitoba on October 17, 2018, when The Cannabis Act went into effect and cannabis was legalized nationwide across Canada. Adults 19 years of age or older are now legally allowed to purchase, possess and consume cannabis within the province.

In an effort to maintain public safety and ensure a smooth rollout for the province’s cannabis industry, Manitoba passed The Liquor, Gaming and Cannabis Control Act. The bill provides detailed descriptions of the legalities and restrictions of legal cannabis in the province.
