Finally, summer is almost here! Trees are leafy, grass is growing, birds are chirping and it’s time to get outside! Whether you decide to go camping, take a hike, throw a barbeque, have an intimate picnic, hit the beach, or attend an outdoor concert, the right cannabis strain can highlight any summer adventure.

Picking the right strain is key here, nothing brings down a great adventure faster than a sluggish high. So, with an emphasis on strains that are light, energizing and happy, here are some of the best marijuana strains for summer!

Strawberry Cough

Known for its sweet and light feel and strong strawberry taste, the sativa-dominant Strawberry Cough can enhance your summer sagas by upping the euphoric feel. It also inspires conversation and creativity, so it pairs well with an activity like hiking with friends. A word of caution: some suggest using a vape pen with this strain, since the flower version may be a little harsh on the inhale.

Green Crack

It is believed that this intense sativa, initially called “Cush,” was re-named “Green Crack” by none other than Snoop Dogg – probably for its bright green color and potent smell. With a sweet and tangy flavor, this strain has been known to deliver a potent high that’s perfect for experienced cannabis consumers. Green Crack pairs well with creative activities like working around the house and gardening.

Grape Ape

Grape Ape is a hybrid strain leans a little more indica than sativa, making it the perfect strain for relaxation. Sweet and strong like a grape otter pop, it provides a very relaxing body high while still giving a light, cerebral effect. Many people use Grape Ape to relieve stress and anxiety, and for summer, a barbeque at home with friends seems like the perfect combo.

Agent Orange

This mostly sativa strain is known for its rich, citrusy smell and uplifting, quick-hitting high. Agent Orange is a great strain to start the day with because of its energizing qualities and it might be just the ticket ahead of a long day watching the kids’ soccer and softball games or going about your day-to-day routine.

Death Star

Death Star is an indica-dominant strain best known for its silver frost, dense buds and strong earthiness. This strain brings a bit of euphoria, along with a very chilled-out feel without bringing on the couch lock. It is thought that Death Star can enhance your appreciation of the outdoors, so this seems like the perfect strain to take camping to enjoy around the campfire at the end of an epic day of exploring.

New York City Diesel

A cross of Sour Diesel and Afghani, it is rumored that the seeds for this strain actually came out of New York City. This strain is sweet and citrusy and provides an energizing and upbeat high while still providing a bit of a body high to help keep you mellow. New York City Diesel would be a perfect companion for a day of urban exploring to check out your local parks and museums.

G13

G13 could be the strain for conspiracy theorists around the world. Its origins, or so some believe, began in a government grow house, where it was blended with incredible strains from across the globe, providing a very relaxed body high and a sweet and earthy flavor. Another excellent strain for relaxation, G13 could be the perfect strain for sitting on the porch and watching a gorgeous sunset on a warm summer night.

White Fire OG

White Fire OG is a sativa leaning hybrid that is potent but uplifting, comes on strong, and sticks around a while. Described as having gingery-citrus and slightly spicy taste, the high is said to wipe away stress and create an elevated high that will not leave you drowsy. White Fire OG, aka Wi-Fi, would complement a day at the beach with family and friends extremely well!

Summer brings longer days and plenty of time to pack in some amazing adventures, so don’t forget to pack your cannabis!
